CounterSpy may pop up alerts if one of several conditions exists:
* CounterSpy prevents your system configuration from being changed by a software package.
* CounterSpy allows your system configuration to be changed by a known, legitimate piece of software.
* CounterSpy allows your system configuration to be changed by software it thought was malware but you wished it to ignore.
Many users appreciate these alerts; this way they know CounterSpy is running. If you are configuring a machine for a new user, however, they might get confused by these alerts. Thus you may wish to disable them:
1. Double-click the CounterSpy icon in the Windows taskbar to open the software.
2. Select "View" - "Settings".
3. Click "Alerts".
4. Check or uncheck the various alerts as desired.
5. Click "Save" to save your settings.
