When you perform system scans with HijackThis, check items, and then click "Add checked to ignorelist", those items will no longer be displayed after future scans. This is great if you tire of seeing items picked up by HijackThis that you know cause no trouble to your machine, such as toolbars that you explicitly downloaded, websites you added to the trusted zone, startup services relating to software you downloaded or bought, etc.
After running HijackThis for a while, you may be curious to see which items have made it to the ignore list. Or, perhaps you later realize that an item that you thought was innocuous actually needs to be removed.
To manipulate the HijackThis ignore list:
1. Start HijackThis. If the "New users quickstart" screen appears, click "None of the above, just start the program".
2. Click the "Config" button.
3. When the "Configuration" screen appears, click the "Ignorelist" button.
4. A list of ignored items will appear. If you wish all of the items to reappear after future scans, click the "Delete all" button. Or, if you only realize certain items should appear after future scans, check those items then click "Delete".
Note that you are only deleting items from the ignore list; this does nothing to affect settings on your machine.
